It has advantages of compact structure, high reliability, high economic performance, easy operation and maintenance. This series engine, as main or auxiliary engine, are chiefly mounted on small-size transport ships and fishing boats on inland rivers.

WP4 marine diesel engine develops from Deutz 226B-4C family with improved structure, increased strokes, and higher displacement, which significantly enhance its reserve power. Strictly in line with German standards, this series engine is equipped with round reentrant ω-shaped combustion chamber, low-vortex cylinder lid, low flow-resistant intake system, and efficient supercharger, which improve combustion greatly. Moreover, its two-degree balancing mechanism effectively reduces vibration and noise. This series is ideally used on river transport ships, fishing boats and public vessels.
